Ergonomic Issues
Standard dish brushes have a gripping space that is too small and thin to provide proper support on the wrist and knuckles for those with joint pain making dishwashing very uncomfortable and/or painful.

There are no specialized brushes...
When looking at products on the market, there were no brushes with the proper ergonomics for someone with joint pain.

Three distinct personas emerged from the research...

Rapid Prototyping & User Testing:
I gradually tested with a range of users of all hand sizes and applied feedback to improve the shape and function of the brush. The interviewees with Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia worked intensely with me to further refine Presa to the perfect form.

"This is so Comfortable!"
When washing dishes with the Presa prototype, the interviewee with Osteoarthritis explained how the shape of the grip helped to maintain a straighter posture of the knuckles. With time, Arthritis can further limit the range of motion in the knuckles, meaning a straighter posture will be even more important the further the condition progresses. Presa will continue to provide a comfortable experience no matter the extremity of the user's joint condition.

Pain is never a problem.
